FWIW, I think the breed originated in Denmark, but like parts of Czechoslovakia and Poland, has been purportedly annexed by Germany from time to time. It really ought to be in the template, so as to recognize the claim, without necessarily recognizing its legitimacy. International borders were fluid and dynamic at the time. I suspect that neither dogs nor dog breeders respected or cared about the boundaries, until some politicians/persons decided to make it a legal and political issue. 7&6=thirteen () 18:13, 4 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
